We are on your side of town....if you are still in CC.
Hello: David I'm still in Corpus. Been very busy building some cars and doing alot of cylinder head work. I have no time for my own projects, you know how that goes. Good to see you are doing well and if I get a chance to come see ya I'll give ya a call before I get there. Thanks Eric
Just returned from Goodwood.
Here is Gijs Van Lennap sitting on the fender of 0588 we ran at Goodwood which he drove and won the last Targa Florio. Gijs was very pleased with the car and had a great time with us. He is such a cool guy and still has great respect from the factory which was adjacent to us in the paddock.
Gijs drove the car in Batch 4, Class 10 Tortuous Torture-International Sports Car Racers 1962-1980, incorporating 100 years of the Targa Florio. Peter Kitchak and I drove the car in Batch 6, Class 17 The Rough with the Smooth-Heroes of World Rallying, 1966-2006
So we had double duty at Goodwood. We had some bugs which took some time to sort out, but the car was very fast and ran perfect by the time practice was over and real runs began.
The other photo is Peter Kitchak about to take a run standing behind the car.
I drove the car in the wet and it had more power than could be put down even with the rain tires. The track was very slippery all weekend until late Sunday afternoon.
I'll have more to post later, but I just returned from London and have a flight to catch in the morning to head the BRIC at Road America.

Few more paddock photos..........
David,
Here's one of Gijs back back in the day for those who might remember ...
Cheers and congrats!!!!
Thanks Chuck. Sorry for the delayed reply, but just returned from Road America "BRIC".Quote:

It was good to meet you too. Always nice to meet race friends in person!!! We got the T70 trans back together with a new R&P and input shaft as well as a few bearings.....just a normal track fix ;-) We were doing 2:12 lap times but went off in 14 from a large oil slick layed down from a big block that blew up right in front on the penultimate lap. I think we were in 2nd in the SB class and 4th overall when that happened. The R went great and we were in the lead on the last lap when PK came into a local yellow, could not pass a slower car and Beck sling shotted around after the yellow as he caught up under full speed. Too bad as we had a 2 sec. lead before that....but it was cool and Frank is our friend......we've beat him before so only fair trade. We broke a crank in the 73 RSR, just got the motor apart......or it would have been running on Sunday too. WE were in the mid 20's with that car.Quote:

I did not realize that was your first BRIC. Its one of my favorite events and has been for years. 60 Can-Am cars together!!!! It was awesome....just wish there were a few 917s there to represent Porsche as even Ferrari had a 512M Can-Am racer at the show.Quote:
