Factory race engines dispensed with case mounted oil coolers in favor of a stacked disc oil filter known colloquially as a 'grenade filter" a part first used on the Type 906.
Here is a pic of the grenade filter that is on ANDIAL 129.
You can see the factory headers here as well. In Germany, these are known colloquially to the race fraternity as "spageti" .

The old ANDIAL race engine is now apart for inspection.
Inside we found a lovely set of Type 917 Ti rods.
The flange on the rod bearing acts as a thrust surface. A standard bearing is shown for comparison.
We need a set of Ti rod bearings for the rebuild and would be grateful for any assistance the board can offer in locating a set.
On a historical note, it will be remembered that Porsche homologated titanium rods for the 911T in 1968 for Group 3 racing. These rods were first fitted to the typ 906 engines. The part is mentioned in the Information Regarding PORSCHE Vehicles Used for Sports Purposes as being homologated for 911T - the "TR" which used a 901/02 S spec engine -but not for 911S.

Over the course of the past couple of years we came across a few orphaned factory original ST roll bars, which are easily removeable as they just bolt in. However, we had just one pair of the original cast steel crows feet, the weld-in footplates required to mount a bar according to factory practice.
These are the factory parts for mounting the Sturzbugel:
901.803.231.2 Threaded plate left 1
901.803.232.21 Threaded plate right 1
900.119.033.02 Cheese head screw 8
The 901 prefix indicates that these are the same crows feet used in the SWB cars dating from when the oem roll bar was first catalogued in 1966. The factory used 900 and 999 part numbers for items fitting the general description of hardware. The 999 numbers are generally off the shelf type items while the 900 numbers are generally for more specialized hardware items.
Once welded, the footplates become integral to the car. If the bar is removed for another use, you will require another pair of crows feet in order to mount it again in another car.
We decided to get a few more sets of footplates fabricated from steel plate and keep the original cast steel factory originals on the shelf.
The fabricator did a nice job of duplicating the unique contours of the factory parts.
The shop followed the steps listed on the old factory installation instruction sheet from an early parts manual ca. '66 for mounting the roll bar.
First the sills were stripped to bare metal to allow welding.
Next, the bar was bolted to the foot plates and positioned in the car so that the foot plates could be tack welded to the sills.
Finally, the foot plates are finish welded.

Here is how the ALU roll bar lines up in the car now that the crows feet are welded in place. We will use factory style German allen head bolts to mount the bar once the interior is finished off.
Incidentally, we used the factory's instructions to install the roll bar. The factory instructions are set out in the 1968 performance manual Information Regarding PORSCHE Vehicles Used for Sports Purposes. Copies of the relevant pages are shown below.
In the meantime, the factory foot rest for the driver and the ST style seat belt mounting points remain to be welded.

The part number on the bearings is 912.142.02. The overall width of the bearings is 23.90 mm.
darn! Can't help you on this one. The set we have is 935 142 00 with o.a. width of just under 22 mm
