Notes: "This very solid and presentable old car will require a lot of attention as it was parked indoors in 1991 and hasn't been started or driven since. The carpet kit was removed prior to being parked so I was able to take pictures of the interior [floor pan etc.] with the interior removed, all seems very solid in the body with the exceptions of some visible rust under the rocker trim [see photos] and some rust under the bonnet where a leaking battery was not dealt with properly by a previous owner [see photos].The car ran well prior to being parked and both odometer statements and service records support the odometer reading of 77,617. Service records indicate that front suspension components and front struts were replaced in 1981 to eliminate the hydro-pnumatic front struts. This car needs a lot of work inside and out but I'm hoping somebody will be willing to take on the project as I have very fond memories of this car from the short time I spent driving it many years ago."

VIN Number: 9112210717
Winning bid: US $30,000.00
Date sold: Jul-09-07
Notes: "This car was purchased from a friend just over two years ago, we're still friends. He was the second owner having bought it in 1973 from the original owner who bought it at Gateway Porsche in Portland. In the 32 years he owned it, my friend added approximately 38,000 miles to the less than 10,000 that were on the car in 1973. In the past two years, I have added just under 1000 miles. It still wears the 1973 California blue license plates and the 1972 Oregon plate is in the car. When I bought it, the car was stored in an airplne hanger in Carson City, Nevada where it had been since 1983. It was driven very little up there and not at all for two or three years before I got it. Due to that, the MFI (mechanical fuel injection) pump was working on only four cylinders and needed to be repaired. I trailered the car back to Long Beach had the MFI fixed, flushed the gas tank, put in two new Interstate batteries, new plugs and new fuel injectors and the car now runs beautifully. My friend claims it is running better than the entire time he owned it. Sometime in the late 70's he had the car painted changing the color from sepia brown to the current ivory which I believe is a Porsche color but I can't confirm that. The color change is so thorough that it is difficult to find any sign of the original color; he said it was very expensive even 30 years ago. Unfortunately, he also had the headlight rims and outside mirror painted (the "newer" look). I have since installed H4 headlights and a correct 72-73 outside mirror. Originals are included. Mechanically, the car is in outstanding condition. Everything works as it should including the original Blaupunkt three band radio. The tires are new Bridgestone Potenza 195/60's which give the car a lowered look but they handle very well. The engine doesn't leak or smoke and doesn't burn oil. Air conditioning was added by Vasek Polak Porsche in 1973 ($662.58) but the compressor and lines were removed at some time and I do not have those. The dash unit is still in place and the fan is usable. The exterior is still very presentable with the 30 year old paint. There are a few stone chips on the front bumper/spoiler which is fiberglass and was added when painted. I believe it is the only thing not original. There is a rear windshield wiper option and the motor works but the arm is still in Carson City. I don't know if those are hard to come by but I'll try to find it next time I'm there. The interior has the full leather option, front and rear seats, and door panels and remains in very good condition with the exception of the leather on the drivers seat which was damaged as the result of a sheepskin cover causing the drying and chafing damage pictured. There is also a buckle in the center of the rear deck cover, also pictured, but it isn't cracked and is easily fixable. The dash is uncracked and looks almost new. Toolkit, jack, targa top bag, owners manual and car cover are included as are numerous receipts from the past 35 years. There are even two different 1972 Porsche brochures."

Winning bid: US $5,000.00
Date sold: Jul-16-07
Relisted and sold on Aug-03-07 for US $5,201.00
Notes: "1969 Porsche 911E (VIN 119220200) restoration project originally polo red (6802), this car will need a complete restoration. It is however matching numbers and is worth the effort. The car has been off the road for 13 years, and as such it is not running. The original owner had the motor rebuilt at some point to “S” specs and the MFI switched to Weber carbs. Since the car has been off the road for a while, I would assume that it needs to be overhauled.
Surprisingly, the rust situation is not that bad. As you would expect, the front suspension pan is shot and will need to be replaced. The passenger door jamb will need attention at the base and looking at the front passenger fender, I would assume that it needs to be replaced and can not be salvaged. Otherwise, the floor pans, jack points, suspension points, etc. are near perfect. The title is clear."

Notes: "1971 Red Porsche 911 Targa
We purchased the car almost 2 years ago. The odometer reads 75,000 however the title does read OD Exempt. After purchasing the car we took it to a Import garage and had it looked over. They changed the oil and installed new plugs and wires. We have never had to have any work done to the car. The car does have A/C and power windows which I am told was rare for this year of Porsche.
Since we purchased it we have put about 5,000 miles on it from weekend drives and nice winter days. We have taken it on weekend trips of about 500 miles round trip and have never had any issues. Its just a great driver.
My wife and I purchased the car in its current condition I am not a mechanic. I wanted a new toy and this one had the "look". The previous owner put all of the back breaking work into the car."

Notes: "Up for auction is a 1970 PORSCHE 911 TARGA. This car has a 2.7 liter engine and fresh Weber carbs. We are listing this car for a customer of ours. The car had been in storage since 1999 before it was brought to us for a “freshening up” this spring. We performed an oil change and valve adjust. We also installed a clean used fuel tank and a new electric pump. The car starts and runs but it is going to either need and engine rebuild or swap. This engine is leaking oil at the case mating surface and is also pumping a significant amount of oil out of the exhaust. For the most part the car is straight and clean with no signs of structural rust damage anywhere. The car has been repainted red over its original green. The targa top (pictured) will need to be restored. The car will run and drive up onto a trailer or transport but it CAN NOT BE DRIVEN HOME!!!"

Notes: "1969 Porsche 911E
Fun car, needs a new owner that has the time to make her purr and run like new! Odometer shows 46,939 miles. As to whether or not it is 46,939 or 146,939, we have no idea. But, whomever owned it prior to us, took excellent care of it.
My hubby bought this nearly 10 years ago. We drove it occasionally, put less than 500 miles on it and has been sitting around being pushed in and out of storage for most of this time. It was originally silver and repainted black in the early 80’s, according to a receipt. Clear Tennessee title.
The chassis is in excellent, solid condition compared to most restorables he’s seen on eBay for quite awhile. There is a 2 inch spot of rust under the passenger battery. The rest is solid including the entire underside, rockers, doors, pan, etc.. The hood has a bondo pop spot that started a year after we purchased it. The deck lid fell off the bench and damaged the corners. There are a few dents and dings which we did try to picture.
As most 911 buffs can tell, the bumpers, wheels and a few other items have been replaced. (Not by us.) This car deserves to be put back on the road and my hubby has finally figured out that he has not time to do this.
The engine has been the primary problem for sitting around. Approximately 300 miles after purchasing the car, it began to have excess fuel smoke. No one he could find could properly diagnose/determine the cause, so it has sat around. To make a long story short, the mechanical injection was probably the problem. The engine still turns freely.
Please, only serious bidders. If you have any questions, please ask them before you bid. If you need more specific pictures, please request that as well. If it were a 1969 Camaro that my husband found sitting in someone’s garage, he would be beside himself!
PLEASE NOTE, THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEABLE AND HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN. AS STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION IT'S BEEN PUSHED TO GET FROM POINT A TO POINT B. MY HUBBY DOESN'T LIKE THE WAY I WROTE THE AD. SO I NEED TO STRESS THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE TRAILERED. IN THE MEANTIME, WE HAD A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAR AND MY HUBBY GOT BACK UNDER THE CAR AND FOUND OUT THAT THE REAR FLOOR PAN IS SOFTENING ON 1/2 OF IT. IT NOW HAS A SMALL HOLE IN IT FROM HIM PUSHING IN ON IT WITH HIS FINGER. "
