Absolutely gorgeous Ed.....
I'll join the pack in the slum area:
72 911T coming back from a long hibernation.
Tell me it's not as rusty as it looks!
Matt...you may want to change to Matt162435162435 as your PreA is gone ;)
Nice project thought...I don't see any rust
Cheers,
...paint it Sepia Brown!
Nobody will be able to tell... ;)
BRING IT BACK, they all deserve it!:)
The car is REALLY not very rusty at all. The pans are solid as a rock, not even discolored. The only rust is on the lower door like you see, and on the fender where the damage is. It spent 15 years in a garage, then about 4 years outside on a homemade parking pad. The pad was a little small and the weeds crept up around the door, but no vegetation could grow underneath, so no rust.
Thanks thorsten, it's definitely coming back! The fact that when I cruise around the streets finished and can tell people I paid $1000 for the car is enough motivation to deal with any issues. And Sepia it will be.
I've been meaning to change that screen name for sure. The 1342 is left over from years ago when I was driving water-cooled VWs, and 1342 is the firing order. Glad somebody caught that!
A couple more. This is the floor with the carpet pulled back. I dont have a pic underneath yet but no rot under either.
First sight of my new 2.4E
