I'm not exactly sure what these cars are
'Versuch' literally means 'attempt' (as a noun) or 'to try' (as a verb). But, when it comes to Porsche, the term comes closer to 'experiment' . . . 'test'
Now, all of the cars in this thread have some connection to 'Versuch' as shown (usually) by their Kardex. But what 'Versuch' means, in terms of the features/uses/histories of the cars themselves . . . not really clear. Some cars are obvious prototypes --- w/ special production numbers, odd-ball engine numbers, etc. But one is 'just a car' --- unusual only for its usualness . . . and whose assignment to 'Versuch' + what purpose it served there . . . not obvious/known
No idea how many of these cars were built. In most cases, their 'Versuchness' only shows up when their Kardex does, so . . .
One such car did just recently turn-up --- out-of-the-blue, so . . . seems only fitting to start-off w/ that one . . .
