To me (biased opining here) the 25 county area in Texas that simplistically is defined as the Hill Country is the most gorgeous piece of the state pie. Think limestone outcroppings, aquifer fed streams, bouquets of flowers randomly growing alongside the road, wildlife that is both native to the area as well as the savannahs of Africa....and the people. Folk that you would want to call neighbor no matter where you live.
Anyway, I've been living here for 6 years, driving all the roads, dodging all the deer and never pulled over to the shoulder randomly to take in the view. That changed last week by happenchance; pulling over to take a call. Sometimes the blur you see everyday at 60mph becomes scenery when you're standing still.
This thread will be my attempt to capture what I stop and see in the Texas Hill Country:
First set - HWY 183, just north of Vanderpool.
