Not if the sunvisors are original. I like the all black interior though. If it were mine, it would have a nice black Prototipo on it in a heartbeat...
i believe that car is owned by board member TeeScott.
correct, seems like a pretty nice guy from my contact with him
It has been noted that the black headliner was optional starting in 73. I wouldn't let that hold me back on it though:) 70E in that color...OOOFTAH!:cool:Quote:

I own a 64 356SC Coupe that came from the factory with a Black headliner.
Is there a 356 option code for it? I'm not familiar with 356s for the most part.Quote:

Looking back, teescott mentioned this very same car with black headliner with the caveat that the window rubber had been replaced. Could explain the standard white/black visors still in place.
I agree. Special wishes could have done it.
I have a 68S that appears to be pretty original, except for a re-paint some years ago. It has a rear window wiper , outside temp gauge; and a Black brownish headliner , in sort of a fuzzy material.which, looks original. Maybe it's not.
Wowsers...that's a very nice looking resto. I'd get that bad boy on the streets doing it's thing asap if I had the $$$. Will be interesting to see what that level of restoration will bring in the end.
Just got back from Peachtree GA and saw this car in person. Absolutely beautiful. High quality restoration, all leather interior, super body and paint, beautiful motor and trunk compartment. All brightwork, glass, lenses, chrome, are super nice. I'd buy if I had the space and the money.
It's a steal at the current auction price. Happy days to whoever gets this one.
Tom
Tom,
Did you drive the car? If so how was the engine performance and suspension set up? Thanks.
Hi Brian,
No I didn't drive it. I was visiting the owner (Scott) on other business and did not even know this was one of his cars. Wish I did.
Tom
Does anyone know if this car met reserve? What did the bidding end at? I had the car on my watch list and it was deleted from "My ebay".
Here's the link. Sold for $29601- somebody got a very good deal.Quote:

This is my first Porsche, but I have wanted an early 911 since I left Germany in 1969. Dream come true. I think most of you saw it, but I'll post pictures when it arrives.
Best regards,
David

Should arrive on Friday and like yourself, I'm going sleepless with excitement.
Stay in touch and post lot's of pic's when you can.

Tom -
I wasn't able to see the car, so I relied on your evaluation that appears earlier in this thread. I probably would not have purchased without someone checking it out. I was considering Tom Dance's 911 S but came to the conclusion it was out of my price range. The signal orange is unique. Not many around in that original color. Either you like it or don't, no in between. My wife loves it.
So you must have purchased the burgundy 911 E which Scott told me about? I am in Maine, so these cars will be going to opposite ends of the country. I have also seen your car on the 911 E registry. Congratulations to you as well and please show pictures when it arrives.
Signal Orange is my favorite color......well right after Signal Yellow:D
Congrats on a fine looking car.
Signal orange, signal yellow, both great colors. This looked a great car. Best of luck with it. As it's your first early 911 I envy you your experience with it. You're gonna love it!
