My car was repainted and the engine bay decals were not replaced. I see that there are a number of sites that sell replacements. Anyone have any experience or site that they have had good luck with the quality of the decal? My car is a 1972 911T

Stoddard has good repos
I'm a big fan of what CANFORD CLASSICS (U.K) offers....used them on my 70 and 73 911-S and with original stickers in hand, I think they are superb
The guys at Carbone have a great selection if you can tolerate their haphazard communication.
I think they're all like that. I haven't see any repros that are the original thick material. Would love to be wrong.
+1 for canford. excellent product
+ for Carb-Bone. I have them on my 72S.
I have stickers from Aase, CarBone, and Canford for my car... I also have the originals (which got a bit messed up by the PO - hence the search for new ones)... each has their good points, but each are flawed, from the thickness of the base material, to the colour, to the typeface, etc.
If you're looking for concours, then I'm not sure... if you're not at that level, then any of these will be great...
If anyone's interested, I can take photos and post them here...

They do look nice...
+1 for Carbone. Have them on our '68, 2-'69's, '82 & an '86 - can you tell I'm a fan??? They do great work imho
I believe that some very nice and authentic red border decals are in the works with Manuel. Knowing his previous work they will be stunning.
+1 Canford Classic. Thick like original.
I would like to know who has the best color match for a 73.
Photo shows my original and one repro that is clearly the wrong color.

In looking closely at the top example, it appears that the very thin protective film is still on the sticker and at least from several sets I've received from CANFORD CLASSICS, this film has a green tint. When removed, the true color of the sticker will appear. Just a thought.
Are you by any chance working on a snorkel decal for Solex-carbureted cars?

Good point on the film covering, will pull back and report back.
This car is 73.5 and CIS.
Thanks

These are my original '66 stickers... none of the current reproductions I've tried are perfect: each has their differences!

Thanks Stephen, great info there.
I believe that the fonts on Manuels will be perfect and as original. So far none of the repo's out there have the correct fonts and spacing. Material, we will have to wait but I know he is working hard on this
Hi guys, I have a October 65 build 911 (302327) and am trying to figure out the correct engine decal arrangement.
I know the original 65 cars didn't have any decals but the later 66 model cars did. they were the red bordered type that Canford Classics make.
This car is an original UK delivered RHD so the actual decals will be different to the US delivered cars but my main problem is knowing whether the car should have them or not?
Same goes for the air cleaner snorkel and the fan housing decals.
The car has Webers on it now but originally was built with Solex and will eventually go back to original when I collect all the bits.
here hoping someone can put this one to bed for me.
Brett Johnson's The 911 & 912 Porsche, A Collector's Guide to Authenticity [page 17] says the foil decals on the rear latch panel appeared in 1967.
The cars with Solex Carburetors had the Firing Order and Valve Clearance sticker on the snorkel. The earliest car I ever saw with this sticker was 300049 (or maybe 47) so it's safe to bet they all had them.
I would guess that the Weber-carbureted '66s had a similar sticker but I can't give any evidence.
Hi All
I e-mailed Canford Classics yesterday & they've since informed me they no longer ship overseas - no specific reason given. Anyone have any alternate suggestions or recommendations other than the sources named in this thread? I need a set for a 1970T. Thanks guys.
Cheers

The Lit Meet's just eight days away.
When I went to put on my timing decal on the engine fan, there was no glue left on the foil decal to glue with. Too old it dried up. anybody know a good glue to use on the back of these timing decal that go on the fan housing? Chris
