They are still out there

Thought I would share this with you guys. The Porsche Gods have smiled on me this time in a big way. Keep in mind I was not looking to buy another car but when I found this I could not walk away. I have managed to buy a 25k original mile 69 S Coupe from the original owner's grandson in pristine condition. The car is all original. She has no options except a radio. It has all books, tools, ect. I am thrilled to find this car! It is encouraging to find an S like this. It makes the treasure hunt worth the effort. We need to keep looking, there must be more. Just thought you would like to hear of another uncovered. I do not remember ever seeing any with miles this low. Does anyone else know of another? Pictures to follow soon.

Somehow, I think this had a lot more to do with effort, then anybody smiling down on you Don! And it just happens to match the RS .... OK, maybe somebody was smiling. ;)

Totally off topic, but it reminded me of a funny tale. A small Timber town, Sweet Home, Oregon. The "greens" were moving in, trying to run out the timber firms. One of their statements was that the timber industry made no significant contribution to the local economy. A mill owner paid all his employees in CASH...$2.00 bills! I don't know if the local banks ever fogave him for the flood of $2.00 bills they had to handle as the merchants began making their daily deposits. Point made! (edit) To keep this on topic...thanks for your post Frank. I think you just added to my case with Leland-West that the stated value on my car should be, er, slightly above the high of $37,000 that it's currently covered for...that WAS as high as they said they'd go...if it doesn't change, I'll be looking into a different carrier...

I found this '73S. 26K original unmolested and damn near perfect miles. Heavily optioned, 911R stripes, rear window wiper, limited slip....

Now in the caring hands of a dear friend. :cool:

But what fun is it to find a perfect car? There is no fun of waiting a year for the refurb, looking at pictures of it naked of hardware, glass and fenders. Wondering if there is still rust lurking in those secret places. Hey, what's the fun of that???!!! :confused: :eek: :D

Completely original, well preserved cars are such a treat to see. Thanks for sharing the photos. I was surprised, but pleased to see it has fog lights. Wonder when those were added?

From looking at the lenses, I'd say driving, not fog lights. Aftermarket? Matters not...a gorgeous car.

I do not want to say what I paid as that could bite me in the ass later. The jumbo fog lights look like they were added back when. Not sure if they should stay. Bob, Can't part with my Rallye. My friend who did all of the work would probably shoot me. Thanks again guys.

Somtimes the stories are not so impressive. I actually found the car on a non Porsche website. I called the gentleman and bought the car. Sorry no mysterious stories about the mythical S that was rumored to be in a barn somewhere. I like those stories too.My 68 Rally on the other hand took two years to get.....

Well Martin you could be right about it not being VG. After a little digging Conda, Viper/ Kelly were not availible in 69. Signal green code217 was. So I guess that is what it is.I do not have the car in my possesion yet let alone the kard to confirm anything. Viper is actually the RS color. Emerald/Kelly Green was for the rest of the 911s. Same code as Viper though. I learned about greens today!!

as long as cars are around the house, she will notice it anyway and discussion will come up. last monday i was checking out new place 5 min away from my house. location would have been perfect but before used as a illegal dope plantation :eek: . underground fully airconditioned, a unit so big, i have never seen in my life. must have cost a fortune (in excess of $50K). anyway i was shocked as i do not want to put my treasures in a place you never know who is visiting at night!

I finally got my 68 S I bought a few month ago back from the last owner who had some work done to the car before delivery as part of the deal. :D

1968 911 S

The S turned out to be Signal Green which seems very close to the Viper Green. I parked the cars side by side and they are about a shade apart. I have some pictures (not the best lighting) of the S up on my site. Check it out http://www.Porsport.com under current cars.

Front end of your car is exactly the same as mcqueen's in lemans. Same headlight rims, full orange turn signals, rectangular fogs and front bumper guards. if only it were slate gray...

Where ever I go I keep my eyes open for that lonely Porsche with the weeds growing around it....

Here in LV I have seen:

1. 1972 911T..Dead in drivway..looks like a dry car
2. 1972/3 911 Targa under cover in driveway..Not for sale
3. 1955 Continental coupe...complete needs resto Not for sale #2 and #3 in same driveway
4. Undetermined early 911 or 912 under cover in carport
5. 1972 911T Targa...tired running condition...
6. Yellow 356A...not complete...looks to be in good running conditon
7. Currently advertised a 69 911T with 77 Turbo motor 16.5K
8. 1969 911T...not complete, good running condition...more resto work needed than it is worth. car was for sale at 9K.

I'll bet you were so excited to see this car and go throught it that you could hardly stand it. What a treat to see such an original, low mile Early S. How does she go?

When I was looking at the photos on your site I noticed many cool things, but I have never seen original, to the car, sun visors that look so new in a early car. I also noticed a silly little thing like the white plastic coat hanger on the passenger side. Were they white with a white headliner? Any way truely a great find. :)

Ahhh! THAT green car...

I owned this car back in the late 90's. It is a '70 E and was a sportomatic until I sold it to a guy in Tucson who converted it to a 5spd then sold it via evilbay to Europe. Still makes me sad that I sold it... I still have a file of old paperwork on this car somewhere. But Rick is right, this is NOT the '69 S featured in this thread...

If you go back to the original post, this thread IS about the super low mileage time warp 1969 911S that Don discovered back in 2004. Later on in the thread a gentleman in Switzerland replied by saying how his car has a similar color to that of Don's 69'S. This car I'm assuming is the 70'E that lowflyrE used to own. I am just as anxious to know where this 69' S ended up. Looks like a true one of a car kind car in one of a kind condition! Not many out there like that!!
