Nice...maybe you could paint the Carrera script on the side since it's a white house (just for the memories). What mountain range is that in the picture.
This thread begs for ..you can sleep in your race car but you can't race your house. ;)
Nice digs. :)

Just beautiful Goerge! Does it have a HUGE garage?! :) :D
Knowing the car went to a good new steward has to be some consolation as well. It will be well taken care of.
George, No apologies should necessary. Very nice digs!
Nice one George, I'm just sorry the RS didn't come my way. I must come and visit soon
Actually I can close my eyes and see a nice yellow or red 993 Carrera RS in one of those garage bays and I can also see your good friend from Indiana driving that car over numerous Alp passes.:D
Seriously, very good decision for both you and MC. Jens and I want to know when can we go skiing? ;)
So Brian, there's a house warming party at George's soon???! ;) Let's go.
Skiing? Yup, went yesterday (Friday the 19th). It was go-o-o-d. :D C'mon over!!
George, how far are you from the lifts? (and when's a good time? ;))
Wow, that is beautiful George! Shame about the RS but you did the right thing. Im sure your wife is stoked!!
Congrats
Dave
That's just beautiful dude!
Brings new meaning to "a man's home is his castle" doesn't it?
Jol
Spectacular! Are we all invited out for a visit?
I ceratainly can appreciate the noise and neighbor part. I would sell more than an RS (if I had such things) to have what you have. Simply spectacular.Quote:

Amazing what €100,000 can buy in Switzerland! :D ;)
We lose more cars that way... I'd do the same in a heartbeat. I'm in the market myself and the Porsches are looking a bit nervous. They can sense it you know.
Seriously, congratulations. I have a sneaky suspicsion that an early car is in your near future. One that you'll be able to build to your own custom specs and drive the snot out of not be worried about damaging.
Wise choice.
Not a bad choice George. Earlier this week I was mulling it over...thinking of selling my car to finance a game room addition to the house. I have the hots for a 9' Brunswick table, and no place to put one. Alas, a quick check of today's construction costs changed my mind.
Where'd the RS go? Is it coming to the states?????
Congratulations George! Hope the RS went to a good home.
Is that cars eyes watering ? - breaking up IS hard to do.
Amazing that little beauty is worth as much as that house.
Wise move. Good luck to the both of you.
John
John,
Don't pack up the wife and kids just yet, I don't knwo about Sion, but a place like that near Zurich would set you back seven figures...
But maybe the French side is out of favour at the moment ;) :p
right, there is no place in whole switzerland where you can buy a one bed room house for the price of even a restored RS! i might not even get a garage on my property for one car!
landprices in Zürich eara might be USD 1000-2000 per sq meter plus new construction we calculate USD 500-1000 per m3 fully loaded. now make up your own calculation:
Sion small property with 500 m2 (it looks more) USD 500 per sq equals USD 250'000 plus construction 1000 m3 times at USD 500 equals USD 500'000, total USD 750'000 or about 5-7 good RS in perfect concours condition.
if you look at it how much the banks will lend, with a good income over here they migh go up to 90% or you need USD 75'000 as down-payment. this might be the RS!!!!!
anyway there is nothing better than a nice quiet house for the family! once that is set, the rest you can add later on!
congratulations and hope to pass by next spring or summer on one of my trips around the alps.
martin
geroge,
how large is your garage in your new house? today, if i would have to buy a new house, the space available in the garage might be more important than other matters :D .
or the space in your garden to make your own P. kingdom :) .
regards
martin
george,
i agree nice spot! and the vineyards just in front of your house! :)
santé!
martin
I'm not sure you can find a decent house anywhere for a 100.000 anymore, certainly not as nice as that one there.
I spent some time not too far from there in Bonneville - that is one beautiful part of the world.
Sacre veinard .
Salut;

George,
Don't think for a minute you don't belong on this board!! You have to much knowledge, and your past contributions are well recieved!
Hey, haven't I seen that house before? Congrats on the closing! I know it was long shot dream that came true for you and your wife. I am happy for you!
Goerge,
No apologies needed. The 'exchange' is the right one.
Your house looks fantastic.
If you need a garage added which is suitable for Porsches you could do worse than contacting this Swiss architect; http://www.kunz-architekt.ch/
Here is an image of the garage he built for his own Porsches. Whilst this photo does not show the cars in it, usually each window has a 911 peeking out....
Another threade . . .
