Sample of 1965 car's carpets
GAHN.com lists a number of different products for German Carpet
Haargarn (German, 40" wide)
Multiloop, solid and two tone ((German, 65" wide)
PC Velour (Porsche, 60" wide)
Perlon (Porsche Trunk, 48" wide)
Sliverknit (Porsche, 60" Wide)
Square Weave (German, 52"-54" Wide)
Velour (German, 60" Wide)
Velour (German, Backless, 60" Wide)
Wilton I Wool (English, 40" Wide)
Wilton I Wool (English, 50" Wide)
Each is different by width and price/part number. So it seems they are each a unique product.
GAHN has a search feature for each model and year Porsche. (The 1985 911 coupe only lists the Sliverknit. (It seems the name is S-L-iver not SILver knit -like the hunk of wood that gets stuck in your hand as opposed to the color of metal coins).
The 1967 911 lists two options for interior carpet - Squareweave or Haargarn. When researching the carpets for the 1964 911 the trunk was Squareweave and the interior was Haargarn. After cutting up samples of the material and sending to sources, (see photo below) Autos International had the right stuff and could meet the deadline - so we went with them. We did have a few rounds of the pattern sent for verification - paper trace of original to them - first pass from them - sample cut and fit returned to them - final trunk carpet is a perfect match to original.
It seems you can choose samples from Auto's International, GAHN, and Tony - Autobahn Interiors in San Diego. Prices seem to be about the same accross the board for the same product. Less weight and quality/density (or limited color choice) of the material is the only way to beat the price.
The weight difference for an interior set of the Haargarn (looks live the velour) was close to 30lbs and the heavy carrera felt/Perlon was less than 12lbs.
I am sure Tony at Autobahn Interiors is fresh with the match for Eade's car, (squareweave trunk and Haargarn(velour) interior).
Sorry for the flash on the photo - the black plush Haargarm white highlight is not as obvious in real person as this hot flash makes it look.

Tom, I hope you don't mind if we use your photo.
Justin, the photos Tom has directed us to also show the rubber heel pad in all of it's original glory. It is black rubber with a hint (or whisp) of an irregular white trace. It is not available but the close match from Auto's international will pick up a use pattern (yup a little dirt is a good thing) and after it is "well used" will look very close.
