MY 67: paint of lid hinges?

Hi All,
I have searched the board but could not find a conclusive answer. Can you please tell me which paint the lid hinges should have, black or body colour?

Black. Also, as of last Wed I believe the mounting hardware/bolts to be painted black based on a very original 68 carcass.

It was an early 68 due to the split decklid. The other detail I walked away with was the gas filler compartment. It was black and not body color. I was completely oblivious which means I have to restore this area...again.

I did score the most perfect set of rubber floor mats from this car. They had been covered and preserved by Coco mats I suspect for most of the car's life. Plus the car had not been driven in 15 years. No worn ribs at the heel, rips or holes.

Plus, I scored two well preserved orange foam heater hoses from the engine bay. These are something else I look for in every carcass. They are usually missing or disintegrated.

Sorry...I had to brag but the SWB guys can appreciate my finds. It was a good day for me.

When I was looking for the rear window foam demister hoses from another car I too thought I had scored a winner when I recovered them from the engine bay, but it turned out they were identical in size and thickness but one was orange and one was black. They are both in original condition.
Why are they different colors?

Which is correct for my 67S?

Do you have an odd one in the correct color for sale?

Would you sell a pair in the correct color?

Bob finds pristine rubber mats and foam heater hoses and I did yard work today...what's wrong with this picture?

What's really wrong with this picture? Rich doing his own yard work. ;) Yard work scheduled for tomorrow.

Mike - I was unaware of a black version. I just dug into my spare parts bin because I had previously collected one foam hose and discovered it is much larger than my two recent acquisitions. So with your black version question and my two different diameter question, it's time to start a new topic. I'll do it tomorrow, after yard work, with a pic of both. If I don't end up using the single spare larger orange version then you can have it for the cost of shipping. It's really dirty but not ripped or torn.

The 912 that mine came from had orange foam (too). Black may be very early 911? Milou's new 911 looks to have black foam but it can be just dirty.

The 68 carcass was a 912. May need to call in the 912 Registry for some detective work.

I don't know where the thicker orange hose came from since it was not pulled directly out of the car.

Orange hoses on the 912s also.

I think the black may be VERY early. . . here is Ruf's car. . .

Interesting stuff! I don't know the car in the picture. Are there other pictures of the car? What year is the car and how early do you think is 'early'.

EDIT; I have just realised that the continued questions about these tubes has kinda hijacked Martin's thread for which I apologise. I hope you have all the info on your hinges Martin (I agree they should be black). I will start a new thread if you want to get this one back on track.

I just checked in to see what all the replies on the hinges (which, as you all seem to agree will be matte (right?) black, thanks for that!) would possibly be about.

Please allow me to brag some more and maintain this spin off, ;) , but what is the word several notches above "pristine?" Whatever that word is then that is the condition of the floormats after a thorough cleaning. Did I mention I got all four? Also did I mention the price? Utterly shameful - in the direction of cheap.
