I know of two different cars, owned by two different individuals, that are available. Both are in the midst of full restorations, sold unassembled, and are numbers matching/complete. Oxford blue one is less than $160,000.00 and an Aubergine car for just over $200,000.00. PM me for more info. John
. . . Edmund Harris' personal car:

Here a couple as well: http://www.psautomobile.de/angebote_911. In an ad in Octane they said that they have a M471 as well but that's not on the site!
the Bahia red RS on that site is very interesting.
It is 911 360 0034 the first RS delivered to France in Nov 1972. I have seen it for sale twice (now and in 2007) and both times it was described as having all lightweight panels although it is not a M471 lightweight. Maybe that is the confusion with the Octane ad? Obviously all the early cars had lightweight panels to get the homologation done.
It is supposed to be an extremely original 3 owner car - first owner to 1974, the second to 2007 - that has only ever had one exterior repaint.
the other point of interest is the chrome horn grills. Original???
Hugh
If it is so original should it not have a steel front spoiler?
Regards
Mike
Mike
my understanding is YES the French delivery cars had to be delivered with a steel "S" front spoiler not the then Glass ones weighing about 3KG less.
however as this ws the first one delivered who knows if it has the S one which was immediately replaced or had the glass one or the glass one is a subsequent replacement
it would be interesting to see the original delivery specs

Warning!!! This RS is with Jurgen at 2 Shores in WI, not in NY. This is a fake eBay auction.
I just sent an email to Jurgen to have him shut this down.
Hate the A....h.....S that try these fake Ebay auctions. They're trying to get a deposit out of someone - thanks for the catch.
There's a new Dealer ad for the same '73 RS (No Afiliation) - Evidently this is the real ad which has just shown up in Hemmings.
Ebay Hacker picked the photos up from this.

Hi Mark
On a closer look on their site this white one IS a M471; 911 360 0058.
I will be surprised if the engine number quoted on the site 663 0678 is correct, if so it is non originl and out of an italian car, as the original engine should be 663 0073 - close enough to what is quoted (ie 6 and 0 and 8 and 3) to be misread?
Interestingly i have a record of this car for sale in 2002 as a 2.9 RSR painted up as a silver "martini" car with #36 and described as
"Chassis #9113600058. Real 2,7L RS Light Weight fully upgraded to 2,8L RSR specifications including Rollcage, 917 brakes, 2,8L RSR engine... Fully eligible for all main historical events including Nurburgring Oldtimer Grand Prix.. Finished in Silver. Immaculate condition, race ready and very competitive. This superb example comes with an important history file and a lot of invoices. A fine car in every respect immediately available for 125,000 Euros (European taxes paid)."
it would be interesting to know if any of the conversion costs back to a "standard lightweight" have been recouped compared to leaving it as was. - it certainly wont be 125.000 euro though!
