It could be the very early cars got preproduction but not prototype bodies. Again, the VIN's and production numbers do not have to be in proper sequence, they just climb together in general. It is quite possible that the first 10 to 15 cars (if indeed they started at 9140430011) got un-numbered bodies. The production number on 0033 is a full regular 914/6 production number, just a very early one."

"#11 & #12 do not have Karmann plates in the door jam or stamps in rear trunk. #33 having a Karmann plate and stamps in rear trunk is definitely production"
Not trying to imply anything just sharing-also i am curious why you feel the door cards are original? I would like to see close-up photos of the stitching and the back of the door cards that will tell a lot.
