Some truly great footage, glad the Sprokets sound track is limited to the beginning.
Thanks, Steve.
It is going to take hours to watch that one./ I kept pausing to "take apart" the cars...

You're too funny Harvey...
I'm doing exactly that and practicing my German. The quality is simply the best Ive ever seen of this vintage footage.
Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh mama. That's some good stuff. I'm with Harvey, it's going to take a long time to chew through this one.
I was especially diggin the race footage @ 1:00. Gives me some ideas...
Excellent post!
Love the ending where they are drifting through the corners :)
Thanks for posting!
Great stuff!!! Early cars rule...
Thank you! Now I'll have to do double duty at work to give me enough time to watch this (again and again)!
Thanks, that made my morning...I'm going to go get more coffee and play on the car now.
Cheers to the new old stock footage and soundtrack
Jeers to the crap editing
Them were the days. Porsche, Porsche, Porsche, Matra Simcas, Renault Alpines, Opel GTR, Alfas...
Thanks for the link, that was very cool. I watched it yesterday on my phone while eating lunch. The sound was off and I was really enjoying it, there are some interesting prototypes and factory mules in there, if only shown for a second or two. I was looking forward to watching it again when I got home, and watching it a second time I found that the schizophrenic sound track detracted from the great footage, as chopped up as it is. Works better with the sound off I think.
loved the sound track ----
of the flat sixes singing at revs!
not so much the Dr. of toe nail removal and spleen splitter's night moves muzac
the white dash 912 is mesmerizing
the red RS handling ? off the freakin' chart ,
of un-reality,
but its still GREAT
and I don't think I can ever get enough of those 901's drifting around , and around, and......
or the 'dangerous' apex shots of folks doing stupid things while spectating. Before crowd control, race track rules, and safety marshals......how did not all those people die ?
spectacular stuff, I will dream well tonite.
A love story...
At 1:22 it can be seen that the 911 had a "plastic" wheel. So far I always thought that all 911 (up to Aug 66 / MY67) had a wood wheel. Apparently some cars, or at least the factory driver preferred a "plastic" wheel.
BTW it must have been a true test car since it already had over 20K kilometers (approx 14K miles). Also 4 button dash, early style dash wood, no 911 dash insignia, no stickers in the engine bay.
Thanks for posting.
Richard
Thanks. We all know some people, that know some people, that own some of those cars today!
I suggest watching Part 2: starting at about 13:00 there is some terrific racing footage of Daytona '73 with Haywood and Gregg; Le Mans '73 with Muller -- both races with a young Norbert Singer as rennleiter. Also the '74 IROC at launch (with ducks) and at both Riverside and Daytona.

simply breathtaking stuff.
Thanks for posting this, I am grinning from ear to ear.
I think it may be my champagne yellow 1965 Porsche 912. It is serial number 451234, and was shipped to Porsche of North America Corp. in Teaneck NJ shortly after its build date of 7/20/1965. It is a numbers matching original car, with early USA spec. motor number 740590 616/36, and transmission number 160091 902.0. Paint code is 6405.
My original Porsche COA lists the importer as Porsche, Teaneck, NJ
Too bad Porsche doesn't copy the Kardex any more, as it would list the name and address of the original owner. I do have paper from the 2nd owner stating the car was first purchased by Lester Ingram.
