Another 72 ST build
I declared 5 years ago after finishing my 73S Targa there would be "no more restorations".
I lied.
I am joining the gang and doing a 72 2.5ST nut and bolt recreation with Classic Road and Track here in Melbourne, Dave Belford is in charge of the project.
Donor car is a USA 72T in Viper Green owned originally by Hector C Asuncion delivered on 15th January 1972.
I have followed the 3 main ST recreation threads with much interest and my aim is to produce a car that is as close as possible to an original
a bit like Scott is doing however with one major exception I am doing fibreglass front guards and bumper and currently fibreglass rear bumper but after seeing Scotts car painted
I might get the steel bumpers done as well and I can change if I feel like it.
I am having alloy door skins made hoping to build a correct looking 2.5 motor with 46IDA webers I don't want to buy original or copies of the MFI system and corressonding throttle bodies etc etc
Some pics of donor car and early set up

after fixing the major rust issues, surprisingly the floor and sills were near perfect, Zymoil protection did its job.
Dave started the task of fashioning ST flares for the rear in steel starting with turbo flares and then lots of metal craft, shrinking, welding and finally
he is happy he has got them looking spot on.
I then spent time removing all the body deadener, a job I won't be doing again in a hurry, heat gun and scraper were my friends for a few weeks and when I finally
got sick of it we sent it off to the blasters to get rid on the rest and to expose any other issues we hadn't allready found.
