Concerning the 72E on consignment at Legendary Motorcars: I also called Legendary about this car a few weeks ago. The salesman told me that it was restored by European Collectables several years ago. He mentioned that it was not a perfect car but should be considered a "driver". I inquired about the lack of A/C and associated vents under the dash as this was indicated on the COA. He, unfortunately, didn't have any information about why this feature was omitted or when. He also mentioned that it had a 915 transmission as would be correct for a '72 although I wasn't sure based on the pictures as it appeared more like the 901's found in earlier model years based on the size of the boot. I'm not an expert but aren't 915's shift cases raised off the floor several inches and subsequently have a much larger shift boot? The car does come with the original steering wheel although I didn't ask for a picture to ascertain it's condition.
For the price this might be a great car but as others have stated, there are some real question marks here and a PPI is a must. I live too far away to stick handle this one and dropped out as far as consideration is concerned.
