SWT 67 tonneau cover
Dear all,
the last days I had a phone call with a friend of mine, owning a first hand swt bahama 67 original paint.
During his corona lock down he cleaned up - as we all did - and he found in his shelf, in addition to his standard rear soft window cover, a larger version, which annoyed him due to it´s size. I tried to verify option 9356 (9316) part 901.565.088.40 being the standard cover, but there had also been a larger cover, reaching down to the floor and covering the rear sear delete. This had a zipper to get access to the luggage area...but cleary this one was too large.
The pictures he did send to me showed clearly the cuts for the targa bar, but a zipper? Tenax fasteners? and the underside, nicely insulated?
I did know these form of tonneau covers from old sports cars, and of course from the 550 and the speedster.
These had tonneaus, covering the complete interiour, reaching up to the front, covering the steering wheel and they had a zipper to open the drivers compartment.
We agreed on: it has to be tested on the car....
and well, he did, and to our both surprise, it was the way I had assumed.
I have never seen such a complete tonneau cover, with fasteners on the doors, even on the engine lid...
Of course it is not for sale, but I thought this has to be shared!
Any idea to this really nice find?Anyone had seen one like these?
here we go see pictures below..

That is amazing... never saw lift-dot fasteners in the middle of the dash pad like that. Around 1972 or '73, one of my best friends bought a '67 911 S SWT, and I only remember a rear cover.
The car really stood out not least because it was Aubergine with a tan interior. At the time I had a '67 Austin Healey BJ8 with a full tonneau, but it was a simple affair compared to this!

Well how cool is THAT !!!

Wow. Beautiful stitching and fitment. Significant modifications (holes drilled and male snaps) to the body. Must look interesting without this tonneau in place.

Nice Haul! also another data point for the thread about the black under engine grill. https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...ck+paint+grill

THAT is very cool! Thanks for posting this. I doubt very few have even survived let alone were purchased.
