So Peter, do you have 'Pintos for Sale' bookmarked or did you just happen to run across this? :D :D
For some reason, I got the urge to look. It was the first item to pop up. Ebay never ceases to amaze me!
My first wife purchase the almost identical car new in 1974. Her's was blue with blue interior and white top. She was just 17 years old, her first car and it was standard shift which she didn't even know how to drive ! We picked it up on a Friday evening, taught her how to drive it over the weekend and off she went to work on Monday... ahhh those were the days !!
Back in the day Pinto's made pretty decent race cars.

Google Pinto Pangra for a glimpse at the Ultimate Pinto!
Between burning up in fires and the camshaft (lawsuit) it's a wonder any of them are left. They were a piece of junk. The only one I might consider would have belonged Bob Glidden.
A buddy had one in HS. His folks made him give up a bitchin' '61 Bonneville that would haul the mail. Talk about being castrated!
The Pinto is one car I could have never seen again and wouldn't have missed it.

Now, ask me how I really feel about them?

Somewhere in the Racing Photos thread there is a photo of an early 911 with a Pinto right behind it. Amazingly, like Phil said they did race these things.
