And, btw, the seller wrote this : "but see no reason it won't run as it looks so nice, was bought in many years ago in this condition" But there are hundreds of reasons it might not run well or several that it might run at all. Thanks.

Do the carbs have the S stamp on the end facing out of the car? IIRC, although they were IDA rather than IDS there should be an S stamped on the body.

The lack of a build #, and the partial doubling of the 901 part of the type # is particularly troubling. The engine serial # looks to be off spec as well; the 9 & 6 seem to have too much of a hook, and the whole stamping appears to be oversize.
Soooo... In the other thread on this 6 month ago you posted this:
"yes engine number and engine type are fine, just the build number i am struggling with looks to have a 9 and a 0 but thats all i can make out, all other engines i have are really easy to read"
Now it's magically and very clearly stamped 901/02, with the ghost of the 9 and 0 you mention before??
