seeing Thomas has put up S YS 847 and S YS 848, has anyone got pictures of S YS 849?
I believe that it was the Sobieslaw Zasada/Jerzy Dobrzansk Porsche 911S in the 38th Österreichische Alpenfahrt (Austrian Alpine Rally) 9-13 May 1967

Fantastic Thomas
you have a wealth of these photos
I think these cars would be a worthy topic of the proposed Wicki when it is able to be established. It would be a good counterpoint to sections on technical issues etc
I have a database of more than 100 comptition cars by registration numbers - most with events and drivers refereenced against them and some with engine numbers chassis numbers etc. Most have multiple photos.
It seems as if Thomas has lots as well and I am sure some others do as well
It would be great to get them all loaded in one place where they could be accessed by lots of people.
LEO ZA 63 was used in a few ads like this one:

Earlier versions showed some private-entry race cars.
For example, here is the Bonomelli-prepared one of italian privateer Beppe Schenetti during targa florio

... on german plates (I messed up the attachments, should go near the green one above)

Great photos Andrea
here is another one of MO 201085, this time at Monza and one at the 1970 targa with a bunch of other 911's
I have a bunch of photos of that car, but don't know its full identity. It looks like an ST in many photos but I don't know if it is.

This photo is from Acropolis Rally 1968, Zasada is driving 911L S-E 8052 in group 1-2 and come in second place in the rally.
Toivonen was driving 911T S-E 8053 in group 3 and come in first place in this group. This car is perhaps one 911 T/R.
great photos
here are a couple more of Toivonen at the 68 Acropolis
Raj was looking for early cars that possibly went to private hands.
here are some from the Marathon de la Route - an event that I have only relatively sketchy details on.
The first two cars are (i think ) non factory. They are from the 1966 event - car 49 and 50. I don't know the drivers or much about them but they look alike they are on Belguim plates.
If anyone has more information I would love to hear it.
The next one is the 3 car team for 1967. this includes the winner the 911R sporto S ZZ 829, but also an 911 S Sportomatic for Gerhard Koch, Hans Schuller, Terry Hunter; and a 911 S for Giorgio Pianta, Jean-Pierre Gaban, and Noël Van Assche ("Pedro").
I think (but don't know for certain) that the S sporto is shown below as S ZZ 826 on the left, and the R is in the centre and on the right is the "S" which I think may really be UL Y 826, a 1968 911TR not an S with chassis number 11820427. It would be entered as an S as the engine is an S and the TR really did not exist.
The reason I think it is UL Y 826 is that that car did the 1967 marathon, then the 24 hours of Spa for Gaban, then the 1968 east African safari and then 1968 London Sydney rallye both with Edgar Hermann. (pics below)
It then stayed in Australia and was converted to RHD with and was campaigned by Alan Hamilton for Porsche Cars Australia . It is still here and still involved at times in club competition - see pics in next post
I wonder whatever happened to the S sporto from 1968? and whether it really was an S or a TR like i think the other S was
here are the photos of UL Y 826 as it is now.
Also seeing I was covering the Marathon cars i have added some 1968 pics - the winner car 28 S H 7685 Herbert Linge, Dieter Glemser; Willy Kauhsen.; and the car I think may have been second; car 30 S H 7686 Gunther Stekkonig - Hans Schuller - Arthur Blank
