I need a favor, more correctly I need advise since this is in your zone. A friend wants to buy his first Porsche, he has been around them for a while and wants to begin with a 1980 911. They are very close to me but I have problems buying ( anything ) from dealers. With this price car should be superb or ( and I believe that ) +5k markup.
Gene Kirshner (Autohaus ) had similar car for sale with all the records , rebuilt engine for a lot less. And i was able to talk to previous owner.

I'll add another cent to Gytis' 2c, as he is completely correct. A car with this price should be superb. A look at Pelican For Sale shows most cars in the $10-$15k range, with a few above that. Your friend should be able to find car without bubbling near the paint code, and other little annoyances, as well as a car photographed in the shade and not full sunshine.

What is "alot less"? There are no great 80's 911's out there for under $20K that do not need at least a little something. Gene is a great, passinate guy but is also a dealer. He has a shop and sells cars(consign or not). His shop is no different than Vintage Auto. There are not alot of Metro area early 911's F/S so this car is a great canidate. I am looking myself for a few cars and that is one of them.
