Yep, normal condensation gunk...you may want to check the breather hoses leading to the air cleaner housing, make sure they are clear & clean. Also, try to drive in a manner to get oil temp above 180, to evaporate the moisture.
I had that on my filler when my valve guides were shot. Now that they have been replaced, the gunk is gone.
thanx for response...Harry D.(or any1else) a question for ya..when I run the car hard in say second up to 6k then decelerate and then get back on it I have smoke from exhaust...on a 114k car is this valve guides or rings or.....?only if car decelerates from hi rpm and then you get back on it does the smoke appear......nothing appears in ez driving...thnx again.
Joel,
Smoke after deceleration is classic valve guides... (or lack of)
Smoke on hard acceleration is rings... (or lack of)
Change the oil frequently... (if your not going to do the valves soon) ..................... and add a 1/2 pint of Marvel Mystery Oil to your gas and oil about every 2000 miles. No kidding, the old high mileage cars really like it... I know ;)
Cheers,
Smoke on decelleration could also be oil overfill. A common beginner's mistake...
True, true.... Mr. Bond ;)
Smoke on decelleration = valve guides. I ran for 12,000 miles this way at 100-300 miles/quart.
Check me at autox before my top end:
