I am removing the original tired heat exchangers to be replaced by Bursch headers on 67S. The displacement has been increased to 2.2L. What is the correct size header for this engine, 1 1/2 or 1 5/8?

I think Bursch should be able to tell you what the specs are for each. If you want some grunt, stay with the smaller. However, with an S motor, that's not what's it's about, eh?
1.5" is plenty big enough for that displacement.

I'd surely agree with Tom,.....1.5" headers are just perfect for engines of that displacement.
Anything larger kills the bottom and mid-range power without adding anything to the upper end.
