Reflections of 'the other' R car...
I just found those pics from a last years' trip through the Italian alps. My buddy Oli (84 Carrera) is pushing me to take the '73 this year - instead of the yellow 'rubber boat'...
But isn't that approvable as 'the other' R(enaultSport) fun car???
By the way - the direct ancestor of the RenaultSport Spider was the also Dieppe (France) built Alpine 110, early 911 rallye cars well known...
Check out the Spider reflection in the 911 bodyside...

one more 911 & spider pic
...and one more! Wings up!
At least the awesome Lotus Elise...
...will finally make it over there!
I saw quite some gray market (Lotus) cars on the road in California, but not a lot of people saw or knew about the modern 'Alpine'.
I heard about a cup replica in Detroit...WOW! This guy really must like it!!
I was told to ship it over so often, ...everybody wanted to see it in real! But I am glad I got 'back to the roots' - and instead...found my early 911 in SOCAL. NO regrets!
I always wanted a 911, but especially the early cars are so rare and expensive over here...
Restoration projects are throughout scary, well - what am I telling you in the U.K. ... ; )))
I wouldn't want to consider selling either of these cars, they are both driving in a really pure and 'maximum fun' way! While the 911 is a lot of work through tight corners (and that is all right like that...) the Renault almost feels easy like a computergame, but you want to watch its rear end... the Spider mid engine swing is a lot nastier than any other car, I have driven. Not only because of that - the 1473 (?) built cars get less and less...
Since I got the Porsche (especially equipped with a factory sport muffler), I just start to think about an exhaust system, the lacking sound blows...
