Fuchs 6 x 16?
I have inherited on my 68 911 a set of chromed (!@$#@) authentic Fuchs 16 x 6 wheels. My first thought is to sell them and get some decent 15" Fuchs and get them done up. On the other hand the 16s do run nicely and alter the final drive ratio in favour of cruising, I guess. I could have the 16's refurbished as an option. I am interested in opinions on this?
What would a decent set of 15" cost (range) and who does good refurbishments of Fuchs wheels? Also interested in any that are around for sale. No hurry.
I am at the Sunshine (unShine) Coast in QLD and there are lots of places that do wheels, but ...

I've been running 16-inch wheels on my '73 for a decade now. No one has even noticed they're 16s. Plus the tire selection is very very limited for the 15-inch wheels. I'm going to leave the 15-inch wheels to the purists.

I have two date stamp match 16x6's if anyone ones to buy them!! Merv, you want a couple of spares! ?!?

Thanks Alex but I have to decide if I refurb the 16s I have or go to 15s. My spare is a 15 and is not chromed.

Thanks also Hugh for the PMs and great info. Seems I would need 'deeps' if period correct.

Yep. That's where I want to go. Polishing looks fine. Just a matter of my waiting and looking for some half decent 15 x 6 or 15 x 5.5s deeps.
I have Pirelli P6s on the existing 16s and they ride beautifully.
