How to lose 150+ lbs in a few weeks! 1967 911S race car
I thought I would post my progress on the strict diet my 67S will be going on over the next two months. Car has been a race car most of its life
and has already seen some weight loss. In regards to the car, original tangerine car, std S trim. Car spent most of its life in California, in 1999 Klubsport purchased
the car and used it in their HSR series. Around 2010 it was sold and saw very little use. Specs on the car currently:
-Early 901 gear box with Airport gears and ZF LSD
-Mag case 2.0 (69 case)
-GT3 Pump
-JE pistons 11:1 (est)
-Carrilo lightweight rods
-Twin plug heads
-non counter crank 66mm
-Elgin cams 314-296
-Pauter Intermediate/cam gear
-Weber 46's
Suspesnion, every bushing, sway bar etc has been ordered from Clint and I will be starting on that as well. No real weight loss but I will keep track.
I just put the car on the scales and it came in at 2032 lbs. Car is mostly steel ,bumpers are FG. I've created a list of parts etc similar to my thread on my ST I made over on Pelican a couple years ago.
Obivously I will need FG deck and trunk, might do doors but I want to keep it period correct so modern upgrades like Ti/carbon fibre etc are off the list. If it wasn't possible in the late 60's early 70's when this car ran
I don't want to do it. We have to have some sort of rule set right? Safety equipment will of course be modern. As I start to post and keep a tally I will hope to get your insight. I'm no expert with SWB cars.
First race is June 5,6 at Mosport. Currently 2032 lbs goal is 1850 lbs
Tonight I will look at the muffler and seat set up.
Cheers John
