As my car is currently in being repainted and refurbished, does anyone know where I can get the horns rebuilt?
Mine have always been fairly insipid, and nowhere near as good (loud and sharp) as the horns on Dad's 356 - which he had rebuilt 30 + years ago.
Or are they the same as the late 356 (12 volt) horns.
Assuming mine are too far gone to refresh, does anyone have any recommendations on replacements?

What year model Justin? Sierra Madre usually have some but their 'site seems down just now. Horns can be refurbished but only in specific circumstances. These may be close depending on which year of car you have. Others are usually the trumpet type, from what I have seen.

It's a rhd 68 911L Merv - quite similar to yours.
Justin, I'll dig through the boxes I have from the 68, there might be some horns - not sure though. (I don't need to have original ones on a race car).
One thing that did make a difference for me on the 69 was cleaning up the earths and adding a new power wire and relay (much like adding driving lights). It certainly gave my horn some oomph! ;)

Merv - I will need to check. The larger ones are just like the ones fitted to 356's, and mine sounds nothing like a healthy 356 horn.
I'm going to check on the car on Saturday all things going to plan.
