Welding near the fuel pump

I hope it's not bad form here to cross link like this, but resizing photos has me confounded. I found rust in the rear seat area and I'm ready to weld in patches, but the fuel pump and lines lay directly under and against what I need to weld. If I loosen and drop the fuel pump ('72, it's in the rear) without disconnecting the fuel lines, is there usually enough slack in the lines to allow some movement in order to move them out of the way enough to weld safely?
