i picked up a pair of NOS hella 128's but they're 6v. my 67 is a 12v system and i'm wondering if anyone did this conversion? i read somewhere you can put in 12v bulbs but also vaguely remember i need a resistor or something to make it work. anyone do this? or can anyone chime in with suggestions?
I have not done this on a Porsche, but I did do it on my Willys Army Jeep.
The lights were incredibly bright for about an hour before they both burned out. I'm not saying this same thing will happen to your Hella fogs, but it's possible.
I am certain other guys will know more.

Usually it's driven by the capability of the bulb and if you can source the correct 12V bulb for the reflector base then, I see no reason whey you'd need to do anything else.

if you use 12V bulbs you are fine..nothing else needed
thanks for confirming and feedback guys. i’ll pick up some 12v bulbs and maybe a relay.
Do the relay, it was in place on factory fog set up, while you are at it add headlight relays to pull more power (amps) out of the headlight switch for longer life and safety.
