Thanks Russ, Yes, it looks pretty stock, the interior needs a tickle up and the only 'real' issue is that it has had a motor replacement but fortunately it was replaced with a 1946 engine, (unsure of the story behind this).
Greetings folks, here is the update on my 1963 double cab all done by Russ Rodriguez of Fibersteel in Azusa CA. A few neat tricks Russ did was the much needed wide 5 CSP discs up front with dual master but disguised with his Fibersteel drum skins done in raw aluminum to mimic the 356 drums. The rims are 16" Pre A copies painted in off white on Firestone truck tires. I think the nose bleed height & the wheel & tire combo make this truck unique without losing any of its original intended purpose. The B steering is no easy feat to fit in a VW bus as Jim described it, in fact we couldn't get the horn button to work so Russ rigged up a vintage brass push button to sound the blaring air horns.
The wider GT driver seat also made by Fibersteel keeps you planted while the Vintage Speed short throw shifter is crisp & precise with no crouching needed going to 3rd. I'm sure I am forgetting some details but the last detail will be hand painted graphics on the doors & drop panels. Stay tuned.
Wish we had a way to give a "thumbs up" instead of the hundreds (thousands?) of replies this type 2 deserves (aka Instagram...where I did "heart" this truck...)
Lookin' Bitchin' Joey!!
Outstanding work. I am still dreaming about the nice tin work Russ did around your motor in the tan bug…..
