Any condition considered. Thanks. Bill
Bill, are you just looking for the correct fitting 16" Fuchs for an early 944? I'm pretty certain that 16" were not available from the factory on 944 in '83. The Fuchs option in '83 would have been staggered 15", 7s and 8s. You should be able to use 16x7 & 8 Fuchs for SC or Carrera, as they had the same offsets as the original 15".
To the best of my knowledge the 16" Fuchs were an option early on. Standard was 15" cookie cutters. The staggered 15" Fuchs were a little later.
I'm looking for 16x7 Fuchs for an '83 944. Any leads will be appreciated. Bill
Well, the '84 944 I had for a while had the staggered 15" Fuchs, so those weren't too much later. I can't remember ever seeing an early 944 with 16", but I've been known to be wrong before. Good luck!
Edit - Yup, you are correct. PET does show the 16x7 as possible from the very beginning. Doesn't appear to have been very common on early 944 though. But PET also confirms that they were the exact same wheel as used on the rear of most 911SC and 3.2 Carreras - 911.362.115.00. So it shouldn't be too hard to piece a set together, unless you want all 4 to have the same dates.
Thanks for the info. Bill
