running the #'s
I need to confirm the chassis number 305713 and the engine number 909431 are correct and matching for a paticular 67 911 coupe. Peter Morgan's "Original Porsche 911" identifies for this model year coupe chassis # 305101-307350 should have engine #'s 907001-909000. Seem's that this car's engine number is a little late? I hate to report that the links listed on this site are not helpful. I would also like to know how I go about getting one of those (is that a kardex) letters from Porsche that indicates that particular vehicles history; i.e. VIN #'s, manufactured, delivery, and destination dates, color codes and options. Could any of you guy's shed light on these questions? Thank you.

Lost VIN Alaska
Snowbound The Porsche Red Book (by Patrick Paternie) lists 1967 911 coupe numbers as:
Chassis 305101 308522 Engine 909001 912050.
According to this book, your numbers are in the correct range.
The numbers you mention from Original Porsche 911 are listed for 1966 model year in the Red Book. You may want to doublecheck.
From what I remember about getting a Kardex from PCNA you need to show proof of ownership (title, registration) pay your fee ($45 probably more now) and wait (they are in no particular hurry).

JCR, thanks for the info. I plan to increase my text resources right away, starting with your reference. I have triple checked Peter Morgan's book and now plan to use it as a coaster. It does have nice photographs though. Thanks again. :)
Wow, don't ever forget your barnes and noble password. That took longer than it needed. Patrick C. Paternie "Porsche 911 Red Book 1965 - 1999" is out of print but still available. Thanks much.
