I bought this wheel at the Pomona swap meet in the late 70's.
The guy I bought it from said he maintained Paul Newman's
RSR and that he changed steering wheels and was selling
the original one. I know, he probably saw me coming but I've held onto it for years and just wonder what this wheel really is.
Any ideas?

I have a 1974 Carrera 2.7, the wheel looks exactly the same apart from the large hole on your left spoke; my spokes are the same as your right spoke on both sides. The factory photo that I have of an RSR shows a standard production wheel like mine.
The hole was probably added for a kill, radio, or driving light botton...
there was in article in Excellence last year or so(maybe 2 yrs ago); it featured an original RSR car that was rediscovered(with a tree growing thru it) by its original owner who then restored car( he now races in vintage and its beautiful)......the wheel featured in his car appears to be same as the one you pictured.........
Thanks for all the replies, I know there is no way to determine which car it came from (Newman etc.) but I just wondered
if there was a chance it could be from an RSR. I'd like to see it
go to someone restoring an RSR if it is indeed likely to be
the correct wheel.
