Hardened Lexan too lightweight? Noise and scratching?

My 71 has almost all the glass scratched up. I would like to take 50lb off it but keep stock appearance, by installing 5-6mm double hardened, anti fog and rain-x coated Margard lexan.

My main concern is noise and scratching. I use it for mountainous road trips and occasional track days. How much more noise is there with Lexan?

Scratching: the hardened Margard or Markrolon is stil about 3.3X less scratch resistant than glass. But it’s a lot lighter. Maybe put in on rear and quarters only, so wipers and rolling windows are against glass?

I had a lexan windshield and plexiglass for door glass and 1/4 windows in my 356 GT .
I did not notice the noise but would scratch easily.
I never used my wipers so can’t comment .
Perhaps the latest technology has improved the hardness.
I would go for it

I personally would be happy just 'going for' living somewhere that I didn't need wipers.

Is it really worth the bother of sourcing Lexan pieces? Also, 50 pounds seems an inflated estimate of the savings involved. Think carefully before acting.

If you go for the plastic windows, the best approach is for the back three and leave the doors and windshield alone: Too much exposure to scratching on them

do not use lexan on the front wind screen - not a great safety idea!
