Had to replace a couple of light bulbs in the tacho and noticed this C shaped bracket against the paravan. What use does it have, or isn't Porsche related..
Thanks,

From the pictures, I think I know what is meant by "paravan," but what is your meaning of the word and what is the language?
I’m thinking paravan = windshield
Paravan is Dutch, probably also Rumanian:) and really thought it translate into English the same. Anyhow, it is the part where the windshield wipers are mounted in front of the windscreen.
Still the question remains; is that bracket an original Porsche part and where is it used for?

Cees
I think he is referring to the “cowl”.

I don't think there is any question that part is not original.
I'm with Ed .
Great, it will go. It is probably one of the Italian add-on besides the 4 (!) different starter breaker switches in the car...

In automobile body work I've heard the area between the windshield and the hood that some people call the cowl also referred to as a "Dutchman." The same term is used to describe the area between the rear window and the trunk lid.
Funny. Real Dutchman makes a paravan out of a cowl which is also a Dutchman:) wonder where that comes from..
