More tire questions

I've read the threads here and on some other boards about tires and I've gotten some ideas, but I've run into some snags. I'd like your help. I was planning 6" on the front and 7" on the rear with 195/65s and 215/60s. They come out very close to each other in size and to the original tires.
Unfortunately, there are very few tires available in both sizes. How would 205/60 and 215/60 work with 6s and 7s? The fronts would be about 1/2 inch smaller than the rears.

Finally, what brands do people like? I've read one recommendation for Michelin Pilot XGT H4s (one of the few available in 195/65 and 215/60). I've had good luck on other cars with Yokohamas. Do people have experience with AVS ES 100s? What else should I consider?

BTW, this is too good a group not too join, so my check went in the mail Saturday.

One thing missing here, Alan- on which 911? You might have trouble with the 7s and 215s in the rear if you have a SWB car. If it's a '69-73 w/ small flares you should be OK.

Haven't used them myself but have heard good things about them from others. Good value tire.

215/60 should work on the rear with "R" wheels, right? ;)

Oops. I meant to begin this thread like I did the last one. My car is a 69 S Targa with slightly wider flares.
