thanks George;
what causes the brakes to squeak?
Is there any other solutions?
I think that the brake squeak/noise is caused by the pads vibrating/oscillating between the rotor and the caliper/piston. HTH.
Any suggestions; I am getting desperate :)Quote:

Hey Dwight,
Yeah, I noticed that the other morning pulling into the Bakery. I saw (somewhere) some spray that's supposed to stop the skweaking. I've never tried it but if you are desparate.... I think it was at Kragen's auto (seriously). Let me know.
Otherwise, I'm sure upgrading to some racing cabon pads and cross drilled Zim's would do the trick ;)
Had a great time driving your car BTW. We'll have to do it again soon. I've got a 70' T adn a 69'T (both Albert Blue) recruited for the next coffee run as well.
There is some "anti-squeal goop" sold in most auto parts stores that you put between the piston and backing plate to stop the vibration, but I have never used it, so don't know how well it works and what downsides there may be. Beveling the leading edge of the pad as GeorgeK suggests is a good idea. My Pagid orange pads squeak like crazy when cold under light application of brakes, but when you step on them hard, no squealing. I do believe it is a vibration problem, so the goop may dampen that.Quote:
