That's not a tensioner guard. The guard is the collar you can see on the piston in my photo. You could just use the Porsche parts from the 930. Mechanical tensioner with safety collars. Solid tensioners are a baaaad idea in my view. No temperature compensation amongst other issues.
Thanks for your response Sir. Sorry for all my Newbies question but do you mean purchase a pair of 'mechanical tensioners with collars' as fitted to the 930? I don't even know if I have 'solid tensioners' in my 1968 Flat6.
