I agree with the full 360 light dispersion- the interior of stock light housings reflect the light. The ones I used are like these
Attachment 534125
This style reflects all around inside the housing.

I think that's the right approach in our cars, as opposed to my bike. I use the incandescent bulb set that John Audettte sells which are 50% brighter than stock and I think they are fine. More current draw than stock or an LED, but my alternator can handle it. I drive with lights on all the time.
I also installed the Audette incandescent bulbs..mostly because I'm lazy and didn't want to deal with splicing in resistors etc. Brightness is moderately better than stock. Certainly not LED level, and if I could, I'd just pop LEDs into the brake lights as that's really what I want to grab attention.
Especially the brake lights, the LED's are quite easy to install. No resistors, no special connections, just one bulb out, LED bulb in.
Kent- Think that at least the red LED brake lights are very smart. All cars on the road these have third high mounted brake lights.
Several years ago I had a driver come very close to the back of the S claiming she couldn't see my brake lights. I immediately ordered them.
I also picked yellow LEDs for the turn signal bulbs. Kept the original lens but when blinker on it looks yellow.
Done! Thanks Jeff.
I'm now running a hybrid of the Audette "brighter" incandescent bulbs with the LED brake light bulbs referenced above. Also splurged and put in some warm LED dome light bulbs. I'm keeping the dim instrument lighting as I like the look.
All dialed in (for now).
Any updates on these LED's
Continue to be very glad I installed the LEDs. Really like the yellow turn signals un stock red lenses.
Every so often have turn signal flasher issues- either doesnt flash or .... rapidly. Tried a suggested solid state turn signal relay but same problem(s). Next I'm going to do a real close inspection of the four light housing grounds.
