It WILL be interesting how they get on....
Chuck, thanks for moving this to correct forum spot.
It is not easy for an OEM to enter Formula One. I have done some relevant bits and bobs over about fifteen years in my various roles working in F1 including for example helping establish the technical partnership of between the senior executive management of a well known German OEM and the owners of a famous F1 team. That certainly has its moments! Then later for two seasons I was invited to run the team’s after action debriefs by F1 team’s technical director, those sessions involved all of his senior technical reports when we were partnering with a different German OEM engine supplier.
Some years the team working with these German OEM technical partners finished second or third in the FiA Formula One World Constructor’s championships. A few years ago I was invited to work as an expert advisor (their name for my role not mine) to the senior global leadership of the FiA which gives a different perspective. This was with the arm of FiA who govern all world motorsport (not the FiA mobility-arm).
My interest in Porsche marque is a hobby (not professional) mainly because I happen to own a 73 911. Nevertheless I shall watch the entry being announced on the link by group CEO with some interest.
