I'm looking for new rubber seals for front and rear windows. Anyone have experience (or recommendations) on OEM verses Genuine Porsche products? Seems Porsche are about $100 more than OEM. Is it worth the extra $$?
Thanks,
Don

Get them from Porsche
Another question, same subject. I striped the car 4 years ago and getting close to full restoration. I pulled the old windshield rubber (front and rear) out of my storage to make sure I got the correct new rubber. I found that I had removed 2 pieces of rubber for each of the windows. Everything online (and parts diagram) show a single piece of rubber for front and rear.
Any thoughts/experience?
I don’t ever recall seeing two seals per windshield. One seal per screen is the norm. And agree with the others - use Genuine Porsche seals for both front windshield & rear window. Other seals don’t sit in the corners correctly or are narrower and don’t cover & seal the frame adequately.
i can personally attest to the importance of Porsche seals. I purchased the 'whole car' seal kit from Sierra Madre for my restoration project. It was a mix of seals of different brands. The non-Porsche brands were not acceptable - in fact, the windshield and rear windows had to be removed and done over once I got the Porsche seals as the fitment was terrible with the non Porsche brand.
Go with the high end seals and pay a professional with Porsche glass experience to install, especially the rear window.
