cam and piston question
I started to strip my 69 2.0t engine.. I was told that it has E cams and pistons .I will CC the piston domes tomorrow. Any one know what the different cc for the T-E-S pistons are?
Cam markings are 901 105 109 01 and 901 105 11 01. Production dates 23966 and 16766. From what I can find these are out of an early 2.0 litre. On the front of the cam both have 05 stamped. Are these solex cams? Before taking apart I checked the overlap left 2.6 and right 2.8. I found info on the forum that these should be 4.2-4.6?
thanks Jake

Are the cylinders cast iron or do they have Alu fins?

cc'ed the piston dome and head, I have 9.4:1 compression.

That does not sound like a T engine anymore. This could be interesting. On the inside of the pistons, up in the dome, there are casting numbers. This would help identify the pistons. The heads also have casting numbers an marks plus date codes. Can you provide photos of each?

it is reported that those are 911E pistons with 9.1 compression. Did you have the correct deck height when measuring?

could be how I sealed the piston to cylinder. I use a light sunroof grease to seal. might account for the difference. Base copper seal was 0.3mm.
thanks for the help Dave.
