    Becker Europa - information appreciated

I got my COA for my 1969E and it says my car had a Becker Europa radio.

I would like to replace the newer unit which was installed by the previous owner with an original one.

I have located one on Pelican Parts, and the seller has asked if I want a 2 band (BC/FM) or a 4 band (L/M/K/U)? Full face or 3 hole?

Searching online, there seems to be several different Europa models.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

    TY!

    Wolfgang,
Depends what country you are in, FM for the US, L/M/K/U for Europe.
The Becker Europa was a favorite radio for Mercedes and Porsche, with Mercedes using the stereo radio (K prefix in the serial number) and Porsche using the mono (D prefix in the serial number).
Two years ago I paid $400 for a good working Europa, and opted for the stereo model because my 69S has two speakers in the doors and two on the rear deck.
You probably want a three hole (two knobs and scale) radio. Please check the archives, there was a posting recently asking for pictures of original radios installed in the dash. (see below)
Also, check on-line, there are instructions to add a jack so you can plug your I-pod into the old Beckers.
Check link below for some vintage Becker radios and a wide variety of services.

Don't think that is true for example in model year 73 the top of range Becker Mexico Olympia had some stereo capability. It was amongst the most expensive options of any listed for 911 that year. The Olympia was a short lived model in the Becker lineup but is the one specifically referenced in the Porsche price list that year . Blaupunkt are becoming more understood in terms of which could've been correct for model and year but Becker's less so. Quite common to see Mercedes refugees.
