    Carrera RS 1330 & 1380

Both cars are apparently owned by (Sideways) Stefan Roser. Does anyone have any more info on the exact colour of nr. 1330 other than dark blue?

    OK, thanks Hugh.

Yes, interesting story indeed, especially having both worked on the assembly line and owning a car that's being kept within his family.

"And now for the serious cars. Stefan owns not one, but two examples of an original, matching numbers 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring. The first was his father’s dark blue car, bought new in 1973, and which now has 190,000 km on the clock.

The second RS has done 170,000 km and was acquired as a restoration project a few years ago when the values were starting to rise but were nowhere near the stratospheric levels they are today.

“It was painted white when I got it, but was originally tangerine, and will be returned to its original hue in the course of restoration at Ruf,” said Stefan. “The two cars are just 50 chassis numbers apart – 1330 and 1380 – so they were probably built in the same week.”

Interestingly, Stefan worked for Porsche as an apprentice at Zuffenhausen and Weissach the early ‘70s, spending time on the Carrera RS 2.7 production line. So his literal and emotional connection to this iconic 911 model goes much deeper than just through ownership."
