    If you could choose any 911 you wanted, and money was no object (for a change), which 911 would you own?

    SWB, LWB, RS, Targa, Coupe, Race, Street, Prototype, Tangerine, Olive, Black, perhaps the car you currently own....

    I'm with you on this. An interesting, borderline experimental time at the factory wrought the GTS. And 69 was sort of a forgotten year 911 competition car wise.

    And this particular car has too much about it that is so special

    Here's a pic I took of it at RRIV on the 17 Mile Drive tour... LOVE IT

    Hmmm........ I guess any wide bodied ST.... Just about any '71-'72 ST

    Any of the cars on the cover of the of the February '73 Christophorus.........

    But I've always been partial to the OLDENKOTT tobacco car Clemens Schickentanz drove in '71...

    However his '72 car wasn't too bad either......

    I'm with you Guys . . .

    IMO --- hands-down the most exciting/mysterious/fascinating 911 variant Porsche ever produced

    With its deceptively 'stock' appearance . . . coupled w/ all the sneaky/stocky-looking alu bits . . . this car feels like some kinda 'ringer' Porsche built to try to get in under the radar

    Oh-suuuure --- it LOOKS stock . . .


    Reminds me of Smokey Yunick's '68 Camaro . . .

    . . . In typical Yunick fashion, the car, although superficially a stock Camaro, had acid-dipped body panels and thinner window glass to reduce weight, the front end of the body tilted downwards and the windshield laid back for aerodynamics, all four fenders widened, the front subframe Z'ed (to physically move the front suspension higher and lower the front of the car) and the floorpan moved up to lower the car, and many other detailed modifications. The drip rails were even brought closer to the body for a tiny aerodynamic improvement. A connector to the engine oil system was extended into the car's interior, to allow the driver to add oil from a pressurized hose during pit stops . . .

    I'm pretty happy with what I have. The 73S is unrestored with records to day one and is ROW. The speedster is one of the most original on the planet and built by Porsche, ie: unrestored. The 67 will be restored, well see how that goes when I get it back. My favorite Porsche of all time is 67 910.

    I've been a Porsche guy for a long time and had an RS, 4Cam speedster and others, but what I have now gives me all I want for non track driving, different driving experiences and shadetree wrenching and maintenance. I have always had cars built by Porsche except for a couple of restored cars. I like prestorations best.
