This car was my favorite...Dino 246GT. I spoke with the owner at length while I drooled over his car. The owner found this car with 7000 miles on the clock in a barn in 1978 when Dinos weren't worth anything. When found it had been modified for racing...Suspension mods, no bumpers, grill work, and engine mods including Lucas injection among other mods. Note the ultra rare period Campagnolo wheels. The owner attempted to restore the car back to original, but couldn't get it to run right after removing the engine mods. He lost interest and parked it. 10 years ago when Dino values started escalating rapidly, he pulled the car out of storage and began to research the car's history. It was discovered through the factory records that his car had been sent back to the factory and was race modified by the factory. The sketchy part is the original owner's name was kept anonymous, but the VIN told the story. He then switched gears and restored the car back to the original configuration that he had found it in back in 1978. It was dumb luck that he had saved all of the mods that he had removed during his first restoration of the car. The car is absolutely gorgeous.

I loved the unpainted aluminum bodied car…The three guys who raced it are awesome too….
