    Porsche 2.2T

    Hello to all the community

After my first year with my 74'eurocarrera,-a dream-it seems that i m seriously bitten by the Porsche virus,(probably like many of you! ), cause an other beauty is calling me ; a beautiful white 2.2T !
The problem is that it s very hard to me to find informations about this car except VIN numbers or engine numbers.

The carburettors should be Zenith, right?
Is there a secret number too?
Is there a service book ,or this one started with the 2.4?
    etc,etc

All your precious informations are welcome!

    Thank you very much

    Paul

UMy RoW 1971 november built 911T has Weber carbs and they are 100% original. (I know its history)
Infos in literature about all 2.2T should have Zenith is incomplete, they also came with Weber.
As often, Porsche used their old stocks up with items until they introduced the new items and this often regardless of the year and MY. Also possible RoW and US market differerd.

Good luck with your buy and of course, 2.2T manuals exists too.
Below the manual, radio info, manintenance booklet (often lost), jack and tool kit.
Not shown is radio dealer service booklet (Blaupunkt or Becker), red/yellow key code paper as well as Dealer adress booklet (either RoW>Rest of World or USA) and radio warranty. Some also had a Golde sunroof booklet and/or a aircon instructions.

Thank you both for the response.

The cars looks clean ,she s matching ( i m waiting the seller s pics) and the carbs are Zenith .But she comes with very few bills and without his manual.
I don t know what to do...

Can someone tells me what were the accessories, please?
Basket weave toolkit i imagine , but which color? there was an air inflator, like the red bottle or only a save-fuchs?

    Thank you

Bills of maintenance are not so important but the general state of the car. You might do a PPI or let a specialist to check the car. The original maintenance booklet is also often lost, once the car's warranty expired.
You can ask a prove its a matching car and that documents (issued by Porsche) give info about its period options.
Owners or sellers usually have this document already and should supply it to you.
As for spare wheels, 2.2l still had real spare wheels w tires (steel or Fuchs). Tool kit were black but are often incomplete, its not paramount.

You might get some literature to be further "educated" (Peter Morgan Original Porsche 911) or use the search button on this registry. All has been discussed before. good luck.

    Thank you for those precisions,Karim.

I understood the state of the car is the most important, especially the rust ,as usual.BTW,i believe the factory started a partial galva(Zn) early 70' , but i wondered how important
was the missing service book and the history on those cars.
I focalised on the later production cars like 2.4,RS and especially carrera 2.7,as i own one,so i m not so "aware" with the particularities of the 2.0 and 2.2 L,T,E,S...

But it s a matter of time with such a cool community!

The number under the lower dash pad by the ash tray is a Production number and bears no resemblance to the VIN. The vin on the driver's side A pillar is a US only thing, I think.

Even with bills and some maintenance booklet, you have no proof how the state of the car is today.
Also, some are original but most either modified, resprayed, partially or fully restored. This also has an impact on the chassis and undercarriage and will define if rust on this (and other areas) occured, is present or absent.
Pictures will tell as well as inspecting the car on the spot.
