    radio faceplate recovering question

I was given a piece of matching vinyl for the face plate of my original Blaupunkt radio for my 73T coupe. Does anyone out there have a good technique for covering the face plate with good results? It seems that if you trim the top and bottom "flush" with the edge and fold the vinyl on the sides, it would fit correctly. I only have one shot at this and don't want to **** it up.

    Thank You,
    Pat

That's how I did it on mine. Contact cement on both surfaces and then set it under something heavy to dry. It doesn't seem to tolerate any excess on the top or bottom--won't slide in if it's got any.

Thanks. Done, I just needed a shove. It came out great. Now if I could just get the radio to work!
