1968 911S Soft Window Targa back on road after 33 year rest.

As I mentioned earlier on this form, I purchased the 68 on Valentines Day of this year. It was complete, but "Some Assembly Required".

It now has all of the components in place that I acquired in boxes: Targa top (I had rebuilt by Auto's International), Soft Window installed, Interior all back in place, Engine & Transaxle bolted in and running. And rear bumpers and deck lid reattached.

I have only taken it for brief runs in the neighborhood. License tag that expired in 1982 and 40 year-old tires have tempered my desire to drive it further and faster.

I plan to get temporary tags for it this week so I can get new tires installed. Then I look forward to driving it more like the good Doctor intended.

Congrats on getting this on road again. What size are the tires? They look somewhat tall to me but just angle perhaps

Those tires are too big - 185/15. The spare is a 185/70 15 Dunlop. I suspect they didn't notice the "70" part when they bought them 40 years ago.
I'm planning on putting 195/65's on it today or tomorrow.
